Ben Financial Services is an accounting firm with over 40 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting and financial planning services. They provide tax services to countless corporate and individual customers in the Miami and Doral areas. Their hectic schedules during tax season match only their resolve for delivering the most excellent service possible. While few relationships can proudly say they have been forged in the fire, that is precisely how our relationship with Ben Financial Services began. Imagine that it’s 2007. You’ve been in business for a little over a year and your server is down. You’re facing the possibility of losing all of your data because your current IT provider set up your server in a RAID 0 configuration and one of your drives has failed (absolutely disastrous). Enter GoComputek. We managed to identify and repair the faulty drive, re-establish the RAID 0 configuration long enough to back everything up and save the day. It might sound like an excerpt from a Tom Clancy novel, but that’s actually what happened.

What is unique about the customer relationship with Ben Financial Services?
Ben Financial Services, while remaining a year round business, represents a mostly seasonally-dependent technical support cycle. That is, every year during tax season the technical support tickets increase exponentially. It wasn't until we started paying attention more closely that we discovered what that was all about. During tax season there is a major surge in activity, hour of operations, new software, new hardware, system upgrades, etc. That's a great recipe for needing a lot of technical support. Whenever you make changes to an IT system, no matter how small it might be, it can, and usually does, cause new problems to arise which you've never seen before. Those problems take time to identify and resolve. It isn't until more changes are introduced and the technical support cycle repeats itself that new problems begin to arise again. Likewise, the extended hours of operation also create more opportunities for technical support and explains an increase in support tickets.

Despite the unique challenges of servicing a seasonally tech dependent company such as Ben Financial, GoComputek is proud to say that for over 12 years we've always been there when our customer has needed us the most and we'll continue to work hard to be there for them every day, especially every tax season.
What industry-specific solutions has GoComputek brought to Ben Financial Services?
The accounting industry is unique in that every year software vendors will release a newer version of their tax and accounting software which takes into account the new tax laws and rules for filing for that year. At Ben Financial Services we implemented a server life cycle of approximately 6 years to help account for many of the older legacy accounting software versions that will not be compatible with newer operating systems. Over the last thirteen years we've been able to make the most of the hardware we've purchased, only having to replace it twice during that time. Furthermore we've been able to provide Ben Financial Services with all the support and technical know-how necessary for maintaining their day-to-day operations. That's a 13-year track record of proven IT experience for one of our oldest and most valued customers.
What is on the horizon for Ben Financial Services?
Things are quiet for Ben Financial Services at the moment. We have a relatively new server and all new PC equipment, which means that  things are good on the hardware front. We improved the overall system security by installing a new firewall with advanced security features to keep all aspects of their IT system safe. Most recently, we helped Ben Financial Services adopt a smart cloud strategy by moving over their phone system and email to Office 365, and replicating their on-premise server to the cloud, improving security, availability and scalability while keeping their overall IT costs low by housing their server infrastructure on-premise. Talk about covering all the bases! Moving forward, we'll continue to embrace the digital transformation and leverage Office 365 further to make them more competitive and productive in today's fast-paced business world.
