SIW Solutions is one of South Florida’s premier manufacturers of Impact Windows and Doors. Over the last 15 years, their brand has become synonymous with high-quality and innovative products in the impact windows and doors business. It is not uncommon to see home owners, contractors, dealers, competitors and suppliers from all throughout the state, other parts of the country and even outside of the US visiting their 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art showroom in Delray, Florida. With such a strong reputation for making some of the finest high-impact products in the industry, SIW’s commitment to quality and customer service is not optional. They need a strong technology partner to ensure operations and manufacturing go uninterrupted. For the last 15 years, we’ve been proud to be that technology partner.
We already know that SIW builds great windows. Building great IT systems is not so dissimilar in the sense that if you purchase the right products and use them as intended you will get the desired outcome 99.999 times out of 100. There’s always that .001 percent of error that we can do nothing about except mitigate it with smart and redundant systems. However, that percentage of error grows when you use cheap parts or begin to neglect the intended use. If our client’s systems are rarely down, it’s because we’re committed to using industry-leading hardware and following best practices whenever possible. It is also because we care and do everything in our power to keep it that way.
What does it really take to build an IT system that never goes down? Such a level of IT excellence understandably requires good hardware and a deep sense of knowledge and skill. However, many intelligent and gifted technicians who use only high-end products still see their systems fail at times. So what then? Commitment and humility for certain. Two of the most indispensable characteristics of an IT tech are a their will to follow through and the sincere awareness of their limited knowledge. It requires a lot of discipline to consistently follow best practices and a sincere humility to make sound and thoroughly researched technological decisions, especially when it comes to the purchasing of new equipment and software and the implementation of technologies that will have lasting effects.
