Welcome to www.gocomputek.com, the website for GoComputek, LLC. The privacy of our visitors is very important to us, especially because we are an IT company that is in the business of keeping people’s private information safe. This privacy policy document outlines the types of personal information that is received and collected by GoComputek, LLC (GoComputek, LLC, hereafter GoComputek) and how it is used. Our website is a WordPress-based site hosted by GoDaddy.com, a web services company based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. GoDaddy’s privacy policy can be found here. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

GoComputek does not collect any personal data except that which is given by our visitors. If you subscribe for our newsletter through MailChimp, we will have access your email address and use it only to send you marketing communications such as our monthly newsletter. We will retain that information until you unsubscribe, but we will never share it with any outside parties.

Visitors who fill out one of our contact forms, such as requesting a quote for services, also provide their name, company address, and other information. Due to the nature of how these request forms function, this information may be kept indefinitely in the form of an email in our [email protected] mailbox. This information can be deleted upon request. GoComputek will not share this information with any other party.

Cookies

We use cookies on www.gocomputek.com. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. Cookies may also enable us to track and target user interests to improve experience on our website in the future.

Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information about you and is always stored on your device. Any personal information is only collected when you voluntarily provide it, such as providing your email address to subscribe to a newsletter.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Newsletter

GoComputek maintains a newsletter which visitors may sign up for voluntarily using the subscription form which appears when visitors enter the site and/or attempt to leave the site. To subscribe you must provide your email address via our subscription form and confirm subscription using the double opt-in form. By subscribing to our newsletter you consent to receiving occasional emails from GoComputek. GoComputek does not share your email information with any second or third parties.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our site. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the site available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Who we share your data with

GoComputek does not share your data with anyone other than any data which is collected by those third-party services explicitly mentioned above. GoComputek’s website is hosted by A2hosting, who may share your data (according to their privacy policy) to enhance the efficacy of our site and our customer’s experience. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How we protect your data

GoComputek takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We protect customer data with the following site features:

  • We are entirely using SSL/HTTPS throughout all our sites. This encrypts our user communications with the servers so personal identifiable information is never captured by third parties without authorization.
  • Databases are sanitized (actual user personal details are removed) before deploying to development or testing environment.

In case of a data breach, System administrators will immediately go through any affected users and will attempt to reset passwords if needed after informing the user.

What third parties we receive data from

GoComputek receives website traffic and usage information from Google Analytics but we do not receive any personally identifiable information from Google or any other sources unless provided directly by the user via a comment, user account creation, contact form or our customer newsletter.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

GoComputek does not automate decision making and/or profiling with your user data.
